Nicole joined the Summit Legal Defenders in 2024 and is an Ohio board-licensed independent social worker with a Masters in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University.  She is passionate about offering holistic defense to our clients.  As lead social worker, she supervises and provides strategic leadership for the Social Work team. In addition, she works closely with misdemeanor and felony attorneys and clients to connect clients to resources and services critical for their success and assists with sentencing mitigation.

As a social worker, Nicole has provided trauma-informed individual and group mental and substance use counseling to youth and adults from economically under-resourced communities in Cleveland.  Nicole has also facilitated trauma groups with incarcerated men and women in addition to coordinating reentry planning to help support their success as restored citizens.  Prior to earning her MSW, Nicole spent two decades as an educator and college persistence adviser to low income, urban youth and transitional aged adults in Baltimore, Maryland.
