Abigail is a career Public Defender dedicated to defending the rights of the indigent in our community. Originally from northeastern PA, Abigail graduated from The Ohio State University in 2009 with a B.A. in Geography. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in 2013 and was licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. While in law school, Abigail interned at Summit Legal Defenders, the Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of Ohio, and the University of Akron School of Law Legal Clinic. Abigail spent years working at the Tuscarawas County Public Defender’s Office and the Portage County Public Defender’s Office before moving to Summit Legal Defenders in 2023.
As Training Director, Abigail gets to share her passion for indigent defense with our staff attorneys and legal interns. She leads a team of twenty law student interns as they work to learn client-centered representation in the criminal legal system. She also plans and often leads trainings for the staff attorneys at Summit Legal Defenders. In addition to managing the Intern Program, Abigail manages the Social Work team.
Abigail completed the 2024 Ohio State Bar Association Leadership Academy and currently sits on the Ohio Bar’s Council of Delegates for District 14.
