Kelly Nichols earned her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Anthropology from Kent State University in December 2018 before earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law in May, 2025.

During law school, Kelly distinguished herself through her involvement in advocacy and public service. She competed on the Mock Trial Team and served as President of the American Constitution Society. In recognition of her commitment to serving the community, Kelly received the 2025 Pro Bono Award for Public Service, sponsored by Perantinides & Nolan, after completing more than 850 hours of volunteer service.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Kelly spent nearly two years as a Certified Legal Intern with the Summit Legal Defenders Office under certification by the Supreme Court of Ohio. Following her admission to the Ohio Bar in October, 2026, Kelly returned to the Summit Legal Defenders Office, where she now practices in the Municipal Division.
